For those of you who have installed the fantastic AWN (Avant Window Navigator) animated dock to add that last extra Wow! to your desktop, I give you the following AWN Themes. Remember you will need to first enable a composite window manager for AWN to display properly (Compiz Fusion is included by default in the new Ubuntu). For help installing AWN in Ubuntu, see this thread in the Ubuntu Forums.
To install AWN themes…
- Pick a theme below and download by clicking the theme title.
- Open up AWN Manager via System/Preferences or by right-clicking the AWN dock.
- Drag the downloaded theme package into the themes window (or use the ADD button).
- Choose the theme, hit apply and then use the refresh button at the bottom left. Sometimes you will need to restart AWN before your new theme applies itself fully.
- All themes below can be switched from the Flat Bar style to the 3D Look style (and vice versa) in the Bar Appearance tab.
Click on the images below to see a complete desktop with the particular AWN Theme in use.

Oh I almost forgot, if you like the themes above you might also like two additional theme pages offered here at Queer Visions:
1. 9 Grub Splash Images
2. 8 Compiz Fusion Skydomes
Enjoy!
Sometimes applications will appear in the AWN dock using icons that are blurry. This means that a small non-scalable icon is being forced to enlarge.
To correct for this and have a dock which uses 100% gorgeous crisp focused icons:
1. Right-click the unattractive blurry icon and choose ‘Change Icon’.
2. Go to /usr/share/icons where all the icon directories are located. They are organized by theme and then by icon size/scalability. Use icons within the ‘scalable’ directories as a first choice; otherwise, use larger icon sizes. Scalable icons are those created in the SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic) format; thus, they resize ad infinitum without losing any visual clarity. You can also find many icons dumped in the /usr/share/app-install directory.
3. Choose your replacement icon/s. Be creative. And if you ever need to reinstall AWN or Ubuntu and would like to back up your hand-picked custom AWN icons, you’ll find them located in /home/yourusername/.config/awn/custom-icons. Back up that directory and you’ll be all set.

These themes were posted in 2007. I no longer use Ubuntu so I’m not sure if they work with OS upgrades or Avant upgrades. My apologies.
They do not work with ubu 10.04. Its a shame, I was liking the camo one. Any chance of updated files?
Yup, doesnt work anymore in Ubuntu 10.04.
Anyone knows another repository?
