An Unframed Cosmos?

A new attempt at understanding our elegant universe says there is no absolute framework. Huh?
I would bet many people imagine the planets and all celestial objects as existing in Space. That is, one could remove the celestial objects and Space would still remain. However, the new understanding postulates that Space is only a function of the celestial objects themselves.
Between you and me there is an amount of space yet it only has meaning as it relates to us. It is relative to our existence. So?!?
Well, this is such a major change in perspective it's very difficult to understand the implications. Look at the cosmos without the crutch of an absolute frame (i.e. Space) and perhaps the last great block towards a more complete better cosmology is removed.
Does String Theory offer the best hope for a Theory of Everything or is it merely philosophy disguised as science? Are there many dimensions of which only three we're aware? Might our universe be one slice of a larger universe in other dimensions? How does Time limit our ability to understand what is? Is Time itself a byproduct of something unimaginable? Is Gravity a byproduct of something unimaginable?
These are the questions which fill life with wonder and mystery.
