I often hear "If it's the Lord's will..." For me, that doesn't work. You have the God-given tools, use them! Don't ask or expect God to do what He knows you can do for yourself.
One more thing, if someone knows you're gay and points the finger of blame, just say to them, "I didn't ask to be gay, it was God who made me this way".
