Don't Be Fooled by the Fundamentalist Cult

Don't be afraid to cross swords with the Fanatical Fundamentalists - whether of the Protestant or Catholic variety. They'll present themsleves as if they speak on behalf of God while labeling you an unfit parent, spouse, soldier, teacher, parishioner, brother, human being, whatever. These types will confidently assert their moral superiority, the biblical strength of their argument and the wickedness of your soul.

Don't be fooled. Don't lose your cool. Above all, don't buy into dishonest deluded circular crappy arguments. Did you know that mainstream Americans used the Bible to support Racism and then Segregation? What does that tell you about the Bible and its misuse and abuse? It tells me that people are willing to do anything to support their own prejudices and misconceptions about other people they fear or don't want to include. The Bible has certainly been good for that over the ages, hasn't it? But if you take a closer look, you'll find that it's myth mixed with history mixed with cruel barbarity. Some of it may be inspiring but none of it is inspired. How do I know this? Read it. Find out for yourself. Simple.

Unfortunately, too many people have been brainwashed into NEVER questioning the beliefs into which they were indoctrinated as a child. For instance, show them the cruel heinous parts of the Bible and they'll say those sections weren't meant for our time BUT show them the parts of the Bible which support current popular prejudices, fears and hate and they'll spout their tired hypocritical line about it being 100% word for word literally true.

Does this seem OBVIOUSLY DISHONEST? Yes. Why do the Fanatical Fundamentalists then get away with their hysterical irrational homophobia? Because too many people in their cult have been brainwashed into considering critical skeptical analysis of their beliefs as taboo. UNTOUCHABLE. Yes, the Bible, to them, is a HOLY COW. Get it? Simple.

Gay people have en masse stepped out of the closet of medieval superstitious supernatural barbaric ignorant world views which until recently denied us the status of basic dignity, equality, respect, rights, freedom. Now that we are demanding full human status and all the rights which ought to come along, there is an initial backlash. But that's to be expected from the older generation.

Fortunately, our cause is immensely more powerful than the negative immoral one of the Evangelical Fundamentalists. Time is on our side as we march inexorably to societal understanding that we are not child molesting, perverted, unnatural or abnormal people. We are just another minority that have always existed and now are ready to throw off the shackles of fear and ignorance imposed upon us by others.

Thankfully, many religious people are on our side and the Fundamentalist leaders spreading their lies and vilifying gay people in the name of 'family values' are beginning to be revealed as the spiritual COWARDS that they are. Thankfully, their fascism in the name of God will not stand as the younger generation grows up and replaces those now in power. This younger generation knows stubborn misinformed prejudice masquerading as morality when they see it.

Finally, don't be fooled by the phrase "Sanctity of Marriage". It is no less putrid and full of hate than was the phrase "Purity of Race". Both posit the supremacy of one group over another and support the evil that is segregation. Those leaders who seek to scapegoat gay people during this time of great complex change are truly hoping to bring back the doctrine of segregation.

Repudiate these cowardly immoral dishonest 'religious' fascists by standing your grown, crossing your sword with theirs and showing them clearly and simply that you, in fact, have the moral high ground. They will likely whither in the face of this reality. Remember, their strength is not derived from faith but from shared hatred. Don't be fooled.
